GRDR Corrections Program — 4-Week No-Cost Pilot
Dennis J. Ackman ·
Get Right To Do Right (GRDR) is a practical, Christ-centered life-skills and accountability program designed for correctional and re-entry settings.
The clean ask
A voluntary four-week pilot, one hour per week, at no facilitation cost to the facility, using staff-approved materials and operating under facility direction.
What GRDR teaches
Recognize warning lights before reacting.
Tell the truth about destructive patterns.
Own your part without blame or excuses.
Use HALT and GOAL to slow down under pressure.
Ask for appropriate help before a problem becomes a wreck.
Choose one specific next right action.
Build a practical first-72-hours re-entry plan.
Four-week pilot
Week 1 — Get Right Before You Roll: Pre-Trip Life Check
Week 2 — Patterns That Wreck Us: HALT Gauge
Week 3 — Do Right Under Pressure: GOAL Pause
Week 4 — Re-Entry Road Rules: First 72-Hour Plan
Safety and scope
The facility sets the lane. Participation is voluntary. All handouts are submitted for approval in advance. GRDR does not replace treatment, counseling, medical care, legal advice, crisis intervention, or correctional operations.
Current correctional experience
Dennis J. Ackman currently teaches GRDR at the Knox County Jail in Illinois. The purpose of the pilot is to measure practical outputs such as participation, skill pickup, re-entry planning, safety, and staff/participant feedback without making exaggerated claims.
